- Gram negative rod in “Fusobacteriota” family
- Incubation <7 days - fevers, chills, myalgia, joint pain, headache, nausea. Rash often present particularly on limbs
- Spirillum minus
- Asia and Africa. Some reports in USA. Known as “Sodoku”
- Gram negative spiral rod
- Cannot be grown in vitro, not formally sequenced, little known about this organism
- Incubation - initial symptoms around 2-4 days with fever local ulceration and skin inflammation. Recurs at 4-8 weeks and can have ongoing relapses. Can also cause lymphangitis, malaise, headache. Complications include
- Coccidiomycosis “Valley fever”
- Brucella - Pedro Pons sign
