    • Asia and Africa. Some reports in USA. Known as “Sodoku”
    • Gram negative spiral rod
    • Cannot be grown in vitro, not formally sequenced, little known about this organism
    • Incubation - initial symptoms around 2-4 days with fever local ulceration and skin inflammation. Recurs at 4-8 weeks and can have ongoing relapses. Can also cause lymphangitis, malaise, headache. Complications include
